Cannot run on the oldest still-supported Ubuntu LTS (bionic) because it was built on a too new system:

AppRun: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version GLIBC_2.28' not found (required by /run/firejail/appimage/.appimage-11585/AppRun)`

Thanks for reviewing. I'll try to make the package compatible with bionic.

By the way, I see that you've hardcoded the release URL. Project README mention specifically allowing GitHub repo URL, which is preferable for keeping the release up to date for appimagehub users. If this is not the case, I can try to create a redirect for the package if necessary

❌ Test failure

Compatibility: not self-contained: uses the C library of the system; uses an old AppImage runtime that needs the C library (and libfuse2) of the system; references glibc 2.34

  • The application quit or crashed right after starting. The error below usually shows why.

First error in the log:

ERROR: The application exited within 11 seconds instead of showing a window

✅ Test passed

@xemu-project: this pull request adds the AppImage from your GitHub repository to the AppImage catalog; the test reports the following. Could you have a look?

Please check that the screenshot shows the application's main window.

Tested:

Compatibility: not self-contained: uses the C library of the system; references glibc 2.34

Notes:

  • File name 'xemu': all-lowercase names are typically used for command line tools, but the desktop file does not set Terminal=true. If this is a graphical application, please name the file after the application as it is spelled, with capitals where it has them (e.g. 'Krita'); if it is a command line tool, set Terminal=true in its desktop file.

Warnings:

  • The window is mostly dark, so the application seems to start in a dark theme although the test system is not set to dark mode. Please use a light mode by default and use the dark theme only when the system is configured for dark mode (e.g. the GTK/Qt or theme setting) or the user chooses it in the settings.
  • The AppImage contains no update information, so users cannot update it with AppImageUpdate or similar tools. Please consider embedding it when building the AppImage (e.g., appimagetool -u) and publishing the .zsync file next to the AppImage; see https://docs.appimage.org/packaging-guide/optional/updates.html

  • All lowercase 'xemu' matches the project branding
  • Use of host C library is intentional (and afaik matches appimage best practice?)
  • xemu does not have a light theme, dark only.
  • Adding update information, or auto-update support, is an open issue (Add auto update support for appimage releases xemu-project/xemu#1349) but I don't think it should necessarily block merge?
