IDE, JDK ver., Maven, Spring & First Compliation

Hey everyone,

I've cloned the project and having some issues with compiling and running it,
do you mind sharing your development environment setup? feels like I'm missing something but can't put my finger on it.

Hi Nathan,

For setting up the development environment, I'd recommend checking these things first:

1. JDK: Verify that your installed JDK matches the Java version required by the branch you've cloned. Run java -version and javac -version.
2. Maven: Check that Maven is installed and available by running mvn -version. If the repository includes a Maven Wrapper, you can use mvnw.cmd on Windows.
3. Build the project: From the repository root, try:

   mvn clean package

   If the project provides a Maven Wrapper, use mvnw.cmd clean package on Windows instead.
4. Check the error: If compilation fails, look at the first meaningful [ERROR] message in the Maven output. It can help identify a JDK mismatch, dependency-resolution issue, or compilation problem.

After the build succeeds, follow the repository README's instructions for running the application and supplying its configuration.

If you're still stuck, could you share your OS, IDE, java -version, mvn -version, and the first relevant build error? That would make it much easier to identify the exact issue.
