Description

CI/maintenance chore. Keeps the ClickHouse server-version coverage of the
server-versions job on the support policy: the 3 latest series + the last
2 LTS series + head.

Target set derived from ClickHouse utils/list-versions/version_date.tsv:

  • LTS (newest 2): 26.8, 26.3
  • Latest (newest 3): 26.10, 26.9, 26.8

Changes

.github/workflows/linux.yml, server-versions job, clickhouse-version matrix:

  • Add 26.10 (latest stable).
  • Remove 26.7 (no longer in the 3 latest series).
  • Keep 26.3 and 26.8 (last 2 LTS), 26.9 (stable), and head.
  • Trailing series comments updated to match.

Test

  • .github/workflows/linux.yml parses as valid YAML. The matrix resolves to
['26.3', '26.8', '26.9', '26.10', 'head'] ('26.10' stays quoted, so YAML does not read it as the float 26.1).
  • The new image tag exists: docker manifest inspect clickhouse/clickhouse-server:26.10-alpine succeeds
    (the job sets CLICKHOUSE_VERSION: '${{matrix.clickhouse-version}}-alpine').
  • The matrix jobs in this PR run the full unit-test suite against each listed version.

Notes

Version coverage only. No client code, no public API change, hence no
CHANGELOG entry or version bump. The default pin in ci/docker-compose.yml
(25.12-alpine) is not in the remove list and stays as it is.

Keep the server-versions job on the support policy: the 3 latest
series + the last 2 LTS series + head. Add 26.10 (latest stable) and
remove 26.7 (no longer in the 3 latest series).
