Release notes and upgrade guidance belong here and in the docs site, not in a design spec. Covers the audit-filter parity fix and its two operator-facing consequences (result counts drop on cassandra/couchbase; secondary indexes backfill), the GO-2026-6505 otel bump, and the audit plumbing that ships with no behaviour change.

Release notes for the three PRs just merged. These belong in the changelog and the docs site, not in a design spec — the spec is for implementers, and none of this was reaching operators.
CHANGELOG.mdhad no[Unreleased]section (top entry was the released2.4.1), so there was nowhere for merged-but-unshipped work to land. Added one, in the existing Keep a Changelog style.Contents
Fixed — three entries, all from #802:
ListAuditLogsreturned a truncated page with a nil error on those backends (noscanner.Err()check), newly reachable now that filters can produce scans"ambiguous timeout"Security — the GO-2026-6505 OpenTelemetry bump (#807), noting that
govulncheckclasses it reachable here rather than merely present.Added — the audit plumbing from #806, stated plainly as writing no new audit records and changing no behaviour in this release, so nobody reads it as a feature that is live.
Upgrade notes — the four operator-facing items, most importantly that audit result counts and
pagination.totalwill drop on Cassandra and Couchbase. The dashboard was already sending filters those backends discarded, so without saying so this reads as data loss. Also the Scylla index backfill (nodetool viewbuildstatus), the Couchbase index activity, and an explicit "no SDK release required".Companion
Durable, non-release-specific behaviour is documented in authorizerdev/docs#97 (
docs/core/graphql-api.mdanddocs/core/databases.md). The changelog carries what changed in this release; the docs carry how it behaves from now on.No version number is asserted anywhere — the next release is not cut, so the section stays
[Unreleased]for release prep to rename.
