Summary

  • upgrade the pinned PyPI publisher action to v1.14.2
  • align the README release strip with the now-created v0.5.0 tag
  • retain the reviewed base-cli v0.5.0 artifacts and setuptools 84 toolchain

Why

The v0.5.0 publication run #37979084299 failed before upload because the old publisher container used Twine 5.1.0/pkginfo 1.10.0 and rejected the valid Metadata-Version 2.4 wheel. The downloaded reviewed wheel contains the expected Name and Version fields. Once v0.5.0 exists as a tag, the repository baseline also requires the README release strip to reference 0.5.0.

Validation

  • git diff --check
  • ./tests/validate.sh
  • publisher v1.14.2 verified from the upstream release tag; it bundles Twine 7.0.0, which supports Metadata-Version 2.4
  • no PyPI artifacts were uploaded by the failed run
