chore(swingset): fall back to the next free port when 6006 is taken - #10499
changes the swingset pnpm script to pick a random port if the default one is in use
this is a QOL thing when I have a bunch of workspaces going at once
Description
pnpm dev:swingset used to fail when port 6006 was already taken, for example by another worktree's swingset, because Next.js only retries ports when --port isn't passed. The dev script now runs scripts/dev.mjs, which uses get-port (already used by integration/) to pick the first free port starting at $PORT, or 6006 if PORT is unset, and then starts next dev on it. The Local: line in the output shows the port it picked. The README and CLAUDE.md now describe this.
Checklist
pnpm test runs as expected.
pnpm build runs as expected.
(If applicable) JSDoc comments have been added or updated for any package exports
The Swingset development command now runs a launcher that searches for an available port, starting at $PORT or port 6006. It starts Next.js with the selected port and forwards command-line arguments. The launcher also forwards SIGINT and SIGTERM and propagates the child process’s signal or exit code. The package adds get-port, and the README and CLAUDE.md describe the port behavior.
pnpm dev:swingset now picks a free port automatically, which fixes the common case where 6006 is occupied. The launcher may not start on Windows and fails for some explicit PORT values. These affect only local development and are cheap to fix, so the change is mergeable with follow-up.

reserved by Next.js and selects the next available non-reserved port instead.
Preserve the existing search range and occupied-port handling.

the Next.js CLI through process.execPath instead of spawning the next package

Skip ports that Next.js rejects.
If PORT=6565 is occupied and 6566 is free, getPort selects 6566. Next.js rejects that reserved port instead of starting on 6567. Filter reserved ports from the candidates. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Keep the port range within valid bounds.
PORT=65535 makes getPort.makeRange throw before Next.js starts, even if that port is free. Cap the upper bound at 65535 and handle valid starting ports below 1024. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Start Next.js through Node on Windows.
On Windows, the package executable is a .cmd shim. spawn without a shell cannot launch it, so the documented development command fails with ENOENT. Launch the Next.js CLI with process.execPath and handle spawn errors. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
