Summary
The scheduled package job could fail on an unchanged checkout because Hatchling was resolved inside isolated builds independently of
uv.lockand emitted metadata that the locked Twine validator could not parse. This change pins the isolated backend tohatchling==1.32.4, preserves Core Metadata 2.4, and makes the workflow gate reject floating or alternate build backends. It also aligns Python Dependabot with the reviewed Node policy: production updates remain eligible, development tools are limited to minor/patch updates, production/development and GitHub Actions updates are grouped, and OpenAI major upgrades remain explicitly reviewed.Verification
