Summary
Fixes #2 from the Grok Bot thread: asked about followers, Grok Bot fell back to the browser and asked the user to sign in. No X tool we surface reads followers or following, and the skill didn't say what to do when there's no tool for an ask.
Changes
public_metricscounts). Never fall back to the browser, scrape x.com, or ask to sign in, and don't call it a connection or scopes problem.Test plan
Note
Low Risk
Documentation and skill text only; no runtime, auth, or API behavior changes.
Overview
X plugin 2.10.1 tightens agent behavior when a user asks for something the surfaced X MCP tools cannot do (e.g. listing a user's followers or following).
The X MCP guide skill now states in frontmatter and under Reading X that agents must say plainly the capability isn't available yet, suggest the nearest alternative (such as profile
public_metricsfollower/following counts), and must not open the browser, scrape x.com, prompt sign-in, or blame connection/scopes. CHANGELOG and plugin.json version are bumped to document the release. This is guidance-only; no API or connector code changes.
